IST Transactions of CECM aims to provide a forum for a broad blend of scientific and technical papers to reflect the evolving needs of the Civil/construction engineering and structural mechanics community. Particularly welcome are contributions dealing with applications of structural engineering mechanics principles and theories in all areas of civil engineering and technology. The journal aspires to a broad and integrated coverage of the dynamic effects of wind, waves and earthquakes and of the modeling techniques whereby the structural response to these loadings may be computed. The journal also aims to cover the prime issues of construction safety and management. The scope of CECM encompasses, but is not restricted to, the following areas: infrastructure systems; ocean engineering; earthquake engineering; wind engineering; blast loading; structure-fluid-soil interaction; structural reliability/stability; issues of construction safety: life assessment/integrity; hazard assessment; disaster management; random vibrations; engineering plasticity; computer-aided design; optimization; expert systems; experimental modeling; dynamic properties of materials; modeling of concrete/cracking; multi-scale; economics. Topics of interest include: tall buildings; innovative structures; bridges; stadiums; commercial and public buildings; transmission towers; television masts; cooling towers; marine vessels; plates and shells; foundations; suspension structures, smart structures; nuclear reactors; dams; pressure vessels; offshore rigs and drilling platforms; breakwaters and jetties; pipelines; tunnels. Also include Information Technologies in Design, Engineering, Construction Technologies, and Maintenance and Management of Constructed Facilities; Computer-aided design, product modeling, decision support systems, classification and standardization, product data interchange; Computer-aided engineering, process simulation models, graphics, Robotics, metrology, logistics, automated inspection, demolition/remediation; Facilities management, management information systems, intelligent control systems. The scope of this journal is broad, encompassing all stages of the construction life cycle from initial planning and design, through construction of the facility, its operation and maintenance, to the eventual dismantling and recycling of buildings and engineering structures. |
