Abstract
The growth of logistics service provider (LSP) industry has resulted in an increase of LSP research conducted in recent years. However, papers which investigate mainstream themes are limited. The aim of this paper is to classify and evaluate the mainstream themes in LSP research using content analysis. Benefit of this study is to identify research gaps and opportunities for further study in the research area of LSP. This study has identified nine mainstream themes in LSP research in which the following themes have not been researched extensively and intensively: influence of technology adoption, development of key capability, development of performance measurement, and identifying of customer value in LSP sector. Overall, research in both LSP and customer point of view needs to be developed.
